I heard this song alot in the late 1970's to early 1980's on radio. In August 2003, by luck I picked up a Vangelis compliation CD and heard Alpha and Pulstar. From that I brought the Cosmos DVD box set in December 2003. I only watched Episode 13 of Cosmos on TV and that was only because I ran across a six lane highway and got hit by a car in August 1982.

These images of those cold northern nights brings back fond memories of my first years in Canada. Gosh it was cold! The air was so frozen and so clear, and the northern lights seeming to dance for hours, crackling above our heads! The first time I saw them I was awestruck. See how often you can spot that other beautiful image of the nordic night sky...the big dipper. Thanks for posting this. I do love the spirituality of the lyrics, very moving.

Beautiful northern images thanks for posting this. I'm sure this is a song about faith and Christ being at our side...we are after all,all of us,a long way from home.

To quote the yogurt commercial: 'C'est si bon!'...It is sooo good! Sooo good to see Jon-n-Vangelis' fantastic, cosmic partnership supported by the VERY cosmic Northern Lights!
