Description:

Playing F.E.A.R. with medium-settings, high sound quality with HD EAX with a frame-rate dropping at 40+ during fights and 100FPS average with following specs: 450W Greenerger PSU, with ASM technology 1GB DDR400 PC3200 Socket 939, nForce 4-motherboard running a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ ~2,3ghz processor Gigabyte nVidia GeForce 7600GT, 256mb, PCI-E. SoundBlaster X-fi Xtreme Gamer 1 x 250GB 7200rpm 1 x 200GB 7200rpm and everything in a Coolermaster Centurion 530 chassi, everything's pretty affordable and does everything needed to really get a good feel of the game, the higher settings does it better but in general it's on these settings everything starts to look solid. In the video the frame-rate is about 30FPS but that's due to Fraps capture, consider adding twice the framerate when not recording, it's actually running very smooth. Though the F.E.A.R Extraction Point devlivered a few new graphical tweaks and lack of programming so it ran only with 45% of this performance.

Might be - but don't expect too much, I would recommend you to wait a Little longer and catch up a faster GPU and go for a good mainstream processor, either C2D or the AMD X2, the mainstream difference between those two are minimal. The thing that's pulling the 7600GT down is probably to low bit used, 128-bit ain't cool anymore. But for the price... sure.

It's decent, but not for DX9 users which will stay DX9 for a while longer. I would recommend the brand new ATi 2900XT at the moment, it's quite pricey, yes, but going for the price of a 8800gts 640mb while performing just about 7-12 % behind the 8800GTX! Craves some serious power too, but it would be a good investment for serious DX9 AND future DX10 gamers for sure.
