massmegawatts dot com might be as efficient with the new modifications.

I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of those, although I'd prefer the horizontal ones to these that can be mounted on top of large buildings. For rulal areas I'd much rather have the huge conventional ones.

It looks pretty cool to me. And I could barely hear it. Now quit being so negative. And no more presidents from your home state, please!

massmegawatts dot com is slightly less efficient than aerotecture. it does not use an inverter and the lower cost seems to be a gain to offset the loss of efficiency.

massmegawatts dot com used less efficient but lower cost induction generators.

massmegawatts dot com and Mr. Becker's wind turbine has the same 28 percent efficiency. would massmegawatts dot com benefit from a better generator like what Mr. Becker is working on?

Why are there still engineers which believe in vertical axis wind turbines? These turbines will produce power but theoretical (and proven in practice) will produce less. The return on investment is more then 15 years..

Maybe the acrylic protects the turbine mechanism from the effects of weather, ice build up etc. But it is frustrating that there is ot a lot of explanation. I must follow up their website.

I think the acryilics stuff in the middle helps it start turning... Kind of neat - but no real data here or on the website. They spin - but I don't see any power really being generated. Vertical axis machines have a lot of problems to overcome - it's one thing to make something neat that spins... another to make something neat, that spins, that makes power... that lasts for years. Very challenging stuff.
