Why is it just not racism? Reverse racim has always buged me. I do not think Whites made up racism.

True enough. But they do integrate eventually, and if they don't, their children do.

Or for keeping them, depending on your viewpoint. Personally, I think native culture can be revived without relying on the reserves and a sort of segregation.

True.. but to Aprils point, many recent immigrants are drawn to those similar to themselves, who they have somethig in common with.

I think natives are mostly integrated anyways. Most speak english or french as a first language, for example. Most care more about white culture than native culture, though many do care about their own culture in some way.

50 years ago, racism was the norm. Human nature changed there. It can change here, too.

I wonder whenther native culture has been lost, jsut because of being stuck on reserves and such. I find the whole thing smacks of apartheid.. I think whatever is left of native culture will survive just fine. I agree also that natives would need a leg up to integrate but I'm sure it can be done. A friend of mine went to Belal Bella (mid-north coast of BC) to teach highschool. It was quite an experience for him.
