samanthakayee ::: Favorites Why is it just not racism? Reverse racim has always buged me. I do not think Whites made up racism. 07-08-30 10:17:40 _____________________________________________________
rowsdowersavesus ::: Favorites True enough. But they do integrate eventually, and if they don't, their children do. 07-08-27 19:53:00 _____________________________________________________
rowsdowersavesus ::: Favorites Or for keeping them, depending on your viewpoint. Personally, I think native culture can be revived without relying on the reserves and a sort of segregation. 07-08-27 19:52:06 _____________________________________________________
Brianj1234 ::: Favorites True.. maybe another strike against keeping reserves around? 07-08-27 17:50:29 _____________________________________________________
Brianj1234 ::: Favorites I agree about reverse racism. 07-08-27 17:49:14 _____________________________________________________
Brianj1234 ::: Favorites True.. but to Aprils point, many recent immigrants are drawn to those similar to themselves, who they have somethig in common with. 07-08-27 17:47:56 _____________________________________________________
rowsdowersavesus ::: Favorites I think natives are mostly integrated anyways. Most speak english or french as a first language, for example. Most care more about white culture than native culture, though many do care about their own culture in some way. 07-08-27 08:28:29 _____________________________________________________
rowsdowersavesus ::: Favorites 50 years ago, racism was the norm. Human nature changed there. It can change here, too. 07-08-27 08:16:10 _____________________________________________________
Brianj1234 ::: Favorites I wonder whenther native culture has been lost, jsut because of being stuck on reserves and such. I find the whole thing smacks of apartheid.. I think whatever is left of native culture will survive just fine. I agree also that natives would need a leg up to integrate but I'm sure it can be done. A friend of mine went to Belal Bella (mid-north coast of BC) to teach highschool. It was quite an experience for him. 07-08-27 07:57:53 _____________________________________________________ |
