kthurston2003 ::: Favorites Oh Geez, these people know nothing about the Bible or the Constitution. There isn't anything in the Constitution that supports the separation of church and state. 07-08-16 00:50:07 _____________________________________________________
Tempest111 ::: Favorites man you're dumb. Have you like ever read the constitution? 07-08-17 15:14:04 _____________________________________________________
particle409 ::: Favorites Both Jefferson and Madison explained how the 1st Amendment is exactly that, a separation of church and state. Did you know that Evangelicals and Baptists were the ones that originally pushed for church/state separation? Try reading Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists. He says it extremely simply, that the 1st Amendment builds a wall of separation between church and state. Go back to history class please... 07-08-22 06:00:13 _____________________________________________________
SunriseDahlia ::: Favorites "They're all crazy!" so true :D 07-08-13 17:46:56 _____________________________________________________
vane505 ::: Favorites Bill Maher is my prophet *love* Never heard of this guy before 07-08-13 16:42:04 _____________________________________________________
Jasonstarwalker ::: Favorites I am shocked to see intelligent people defend religious belief by saying that all religions are weird. They aren't merely weird: they are downright loony! 07-08-07 04:23:12 _____________________________________________________
Jakester1111 ::: Favorites Islam is a cult created by a psychopath. It cannot be reformed. It must be eradicated. Not because the Quran says the Earth is flat or the shooting stars are missiles that Allah fires at the Jinns. These stupid tales could even amuse us. Islam must go because it teaches hate, it orders killing of non-Muslims, it denigrates women and it violates the human rights. Quran 8:12 I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off. 07-08-06 23:55:41 _____________________________________________________
IlluminatiHellaven ::: Favorites You know this is another proof of how every religion has been about. For example one leader uses drugs, has a vision a about a god, then he says that we have to kill a tribe, take their virgins, kill their babies, maybe eat them, etc. etc. etc. 07-08-04 23:01:46 _____________________________________________________
EsotericDesi ::: Favorites BILL MAHER FOR PRESIDENT. 07-07-28 20:46:21 _____________________________________________________
Richskaterboy ::: Favorites Bill Maher for president! 07-08-03 15:11:23 _____________________________________________________
JCIG1 ::: Favorites So who are the 43% Bill Maher is talking about? the liberial left? the party of choice.... 07-07-26 10:04:05 _____________________________________________________
BroWinky ::: Favorites To me, Mormonism is just an attempt by an egotistical group of Americans to transplant Christianity's origins into wholesome America, rather than leave them in the "brown" foreign countries where they were created. How Geocentric and arrogant can you be? Don't mean to shit on anyone's religion but that is just my own opinion. No anthrax envelopes please. 07-07-18 02:31:37 _____________________________________________________
parktwain ::: Favorites Joseph Smith eventually had more than 25 wives, while Brigham Young (leader of a portion of a Nauvoo Mormons to migrate outside the United States to what was later Utah Territory after the Mexican-American War), who initially resisted acceptance of Smith's polygamy "revelation," eventually embraced the doctrine, took 20 wives, and fathered 57 children. Yikes! 07-07-12 02:58:51 _____________________________________________________
parktwain ::: Favorites Joseph Smith wanted to set up a "new Jerusalem" in western Missouri because he said that he had received a revelation that this is the actual location of the Bible's Garden of Eden. No kidding! The LDS teachings are so wild as to be more entertaining than speculative historical fiction! 07-07-12 02:42:29 _____________________________________________________
parktwain ::: Favorites You can also find presently on eBay for sale a copy of the announcement of Joseph Smith's campaign for President of the United States. Amazing! 07-07-12 02:32:07 _____________________________________________________
parktwain ::: Favorites Google for "Nauvoo Expositor" (the name of the newspaper of the Mormon dissenters) to learn about Joseph Smith's time in Nauvoo and those who dissented. A copy of one of the early newspapers has been scanned and placed on the Web. Pretty interesting. 07-07-12 02:28:51 _____________________________________________________
parktwain ::: Favorites While he was prison on this charge, some locals stormed the jail and set it on fire, and killed Smith and certain followers as they tried to escape the burning building. Not exactly "glorious martyrdom" for Mr. Smith. 07-07-12 02:17:23 _____________________________________________________
parktwain ::: Favorites These dissenting elders created their own local newspaper (in Nauvoo, Illinois) to publish their dissent against Smith's new teachings. When Smith found out, he sent men to destroy the newspaper printing press and equipment. This led to the Illinois state police being called out, and Smith was arrested. parktwain ::: Favorites It was during this time that Smith decided that he should run for President of the United States (no kidding), but this idea doesn't seme to have gotten very far. It was also around this time that he disclosed to his "church elders" that God told him that polygamy was a good thing for them (he and elders and wives) to do. Some of the elders didn't like this idea, especially after Smith had already discussed the idea with some of their wives. (continued) 07-07-12 02:05:48 _____________________________________________________
parktwain ::: Favorites For a while Smith was teaching that God wanted the Mormons to set up a "new Jerusalem" settlement on a particular tract of land in central Missouri; the folks who were already living on that tract of land told the Mormons to buzz off, so they went back to Illinois. While in Illinois, Smith convinced the state legislature to allow him to create a new town over which he could make himself mayor.
