dennisnedergaard ::: Favorites I´d like to hear an acoustic version of that...NOT 07-08-30 19:55:06 _____________________________________________________
crustedmind ::: Favorites Lightning Bolt isn't even straight-up noise. 07-08-22 18:34:54 _____________________________________________________
musicforspeeding ::: Favorites It is all a matter of tastes. To get into guys like fred frith start with some of his bands. Bands like Henry Cow and Art Bears. I eased my way into the genre with Frank Zappa. After that you want more and more until you start to actually like this stuff .You should also try to get into some noise bands. An easy noise band to get into would be Lightning Bolt. If you want any more bands I could give a huge list but this should be good to get started. 07-08-19 22:57:09 _____________________________________________________
prasiddha ::: Favorites This guy seems to have absolute control of feedback. Even though I cannot understand this type of music, I can feel the passion coming out of his sound. As an open-minded novice in the world of avant-garde guitar music, can you guys give me ways to appreciate this type of music? What should I look out for? How should I listen to guys like Derek Bailey, Fred Firth, etc? What makes "good" avant garde and the "bad"? 07-08-19 14:23:06 _____________________________________________________
rss313 ::: Favorites You're an idiot. You think you've come to understand the music, but because you're only listening on a basic level you haven't successfully come to the area you need to to be able to appreciate his music. There is beauty in Otomo's playing, but you seem to be unable to appreciate it. 07-08-14 11:57:31 _____________________________________________________
xxxFRIARxxx ::: Favorites This guy is the biggest piece of shit I've ever seen. All he is doing is using EXTREME feedback to his "advantage" to get the sound he wants. (which, consequently sounds like ABSOLUTE SHIT.) Let the Americans do their music, and you do yours. UTTER GARBAGE. DO NOT LISTEN. 07-08-08 08:57:49 _____________________________________________________
Jimbobbil ::: Favorites It sounds more like a saxophone than a guitar. I wonder if there's anything like this on his released recordings - the one noisy improv on his Guitar Solo album (Rig) is obvious in comparison and the other tracks are straight performances. 07-07-28 14:13:45 _____________________________________________________
RunabouTendrill ::: Favorites Fuckin' Great! Strange music for strange people. Otomo is a real genius in that kind of music. Uneasy listening.... 07-07-20 05:52:49 _____________________________________________________
