Description:
Probably my absolute favorite guitarist. Grant was one of the best, and has somehow managed to slip under the radar, for the most part. After hours of searching and scouring I could only find this small amount of video footage. Sadly he only made it to the age of 44. Rest in Peace G.G. |

nomad05 ::: Favorites not knowing too much about either of the two or jazz. i do find Wes Montgomery's stuff more thought out, when he plays single lines they seem to sound a lot better than fast little notes. but hah maby because ive only been listening to "an alternative Wes" and thats all ive heard from him. is why he plays like that. 07-08-08 22:22:28 _____________________________________________________

butrunioigneor ::: Favorites hhaaha. amazing. I love the way Grant Green built an entire jazz career on about 7 different licks. but it was the way those 7 licks were delivered that made him a great player...he gives hope to everyone struggling to build a wide playing vocabulary. 07-02-23 06:10:42 _____________________________________________________
Klastek ::: Favorites WTF you talkin about lol listen to Matador it's full of bop licks. Green can bop fo sho' ! But he is the definition of soul jazz playin' 07-03-09 20:08:53 _____________________________________________________
Lanuist ::: Favorites I think you make light of the depth of Grant Green's playing. Transcribe his solos form 'The Latin Bit' and you'll find more than seven licks... 07-04-19 08:36:13 _____________________________________________________
sonorousmass ::: Favorites great! I can't stand most of the tepid jazz guitar these days lacking the swing and the tone that Grant has tons of. He was the best in this style and left all too soon. 07-02-19 00:13:25 _____________________________________________________

campocat ::: Favorites Grant on search for a new land by Lee morgan was the first lesson for me on how to play as a trumpet on guitar. I knew Les Span and he really taught me something. 07-01-10 22:21:29 _____________________________________________________ |
